#3 Arizona Moves On In Maui Invitational

Arizona Freshman
Stanley Johnson
Last night #3 Arizona defeated Kansas State in the Maui Invitational Semifinals.   They won 72-68 but held a lead for almost the whole second half.

Arizona was led by Kaleb Tarczewski who scored a career high 18 points.  He cleaned up the glass for the Wildcats and also provided easy buckets all night long.

Kansas State was led by Marcus Foster.  He finished with 23 points, the leading scorer in the game.  Foster hit multiple clutch three pointers to keep K-State in the game late, but it was not enough.  Although he came up short, Foster still shot the ball great hitting 6 three pointers on the night.

As the game was in its final minutes, Arizona freshman Stanley Johnson wanted the ball in his hands.  The game was starting to wind down, when he started to bring the ball up and run the offense.  Johnson also received the ball to shoot the late game free-throws.  Although he is one of the only freshman on the team, they have a deep trust for him.  Stanley  Johnson finished with 14 points and showed off his ice-cold and mature style of play.

With Arizona's win they move on to the finals of the EA Sports Maui Invitational.  They will play #15 San Diego State at 10 ET on ESPN.
