Mo Williams is the First Player to Score 50+ Points This Year

Last night, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Indiana Pacers 110-101.  The T-Wolves had a 41 point fourth quarter that boosted them to a comeback win.

Mo Williams snapped Minnesota's 15 game losing streak with the NBA's best scoring game this season.  He scored 52 points and hit 6 three pointers.  Williams is the only player to score 50 points all season.

Both Carmelo Anthony and Pau Gasol had previously scored 46 points, which was the single game high before last night.  Doesn't it seem kind of odd that Mo Williams is the first player to score 50 points this season?  Maybe he will start a domino fall of 50 point scorers this year.  If you made me guess who came next, I would predict James Harden.

What's harder to believe though, Mo Williams is the first 50 point scorer of the season, or the fact he set the single game scoring record for the Wolves?  Yes, Mo Williams holds the record for the most points scored in one game for them... not Kevin Garnett, Stephon Marbury, or even Kevin Love.  Maybe Andrew Wiggins will have something to say about that in the coming years.
